Evocation and Invocation
Preparation
To prepare for the ritual for this assignment, I purchased eight olive trees and potted them. I placed these in a circle surrounding my tongo/alter. I chose to use Endovelico as the deity and had a beautiful picture of a boar put onto canvas instead of creating an idol as I desired physical similarity to the deity and doubted my artistic skills. Prior to the ritual, I spread a fluid condenser onto the canvas. I also inscribed Endovelico’s seal onto the back of the canvas with a knife and then went over the indentation with a red ink color.
I chose to follow the instructions in The Lusitanian Grimoire under the chapter titled “Evoking the Deities”. I journaled answers to the traits of the Warrior and terminology that were presented to feel prepared and to consider all aspects of the ritual. (See pictures at the end of the written portion.)
Ritual Experience
I started by preparing my tongo/alter by lighting candles and a tobacco incense. I ensured my olive branch trees were in a circle with my main tongo space within it. I brought my notes, the book, and all supplies I would need. I appeared as the Warrior with no clothes, but later in the ritual became the Ampilua by surrendering and utilizing intuition. I imagined myself as a Priestess.
I started by preparing myself by going into a meditative state and bringing (nondual) light into each of my bodies and into the space in the room. I prayed, asking for protection and offering myself.
When I felt ready to begin the ritual, I used the phonemes of Uper (opens the gateway of the oceanic plane) and then as I entered the oceanic plane, I used An (calls in the ancestors). I felt as if I was in a watery environment floating for a bit, and then I perceived a circle of beings around me. One seemed to step forward, and I asked for her to guide me to Endovelico.
I repeated Endovelico’s Canti several times. First in a whisper and then progressively louder. I drew his seal on the back of the canvas picture (idol) with my finger, projecting an astral seal.
I came face to face with Endovelico in his boar form. We were both silent, honoring one another. I bowed my head a bit in greeting and he seemed too as well. It reminded me of the practice of saying “Atma Namaste” to another person in Arhatic Yoga in which each person is honoring the divinity in each other. This felt very much like Muitieas and reciprocity. I wanted to offer something else to him, so I raised both palms and drew down light into balls. I put my hands together making one ball of light and gave it to him.
Angom: I went into a meditative state or trance and offered myself to him. My body and energy shifted. It felt like me, but quite different. My hands felt like hooves, and I perceived I was both of us.
Men: I brought him into all my worlds/bodies as one – above the head into causal, in my head as mental, in my solar plexus as astral, and in my abdomen as physical. (This is a stacking method that Bob Smith teaches and it works well for me.) Then I moved his energy down to the earth and into the space around me filling the room.
I read and then sang Endovelico’s Canti multiple times. During this I felt reverent and the singing felt intuitive.
“Endovelico, ruler of the underworld,
Oh dark, favorable and benevolent killer wolf
Who watches over the realm of the dead,
Holy oracle always present,
Lucifer always acting,
By infernal order
Hear my call.”
I then performed rveti by inscribing his seal astrally into my mental field and onto the canvas idol picture and into it.
I created a mental body of Envovelico and placed it into the canvas and then did so with an astral body. I practiced enetom by breathing into the idol giving it energy and willing it to life. I intuitively took a refined gold particle available (this is a particular stored energy I keep) and gave it to the astral form for energetic substance. The effect felt dramatic (I attribute this to the gold particle) and there was an abundance of energy in the canvas idol.
I performed singeieto by putting my consciousness into the form and I drew strength from it. I felt very full and energized. I imagined his light filling me.
I began the process of tenecacum while being one with the deity. On orgasm I gave the energy to the idol and immediately perceived it differently. It was as if the energy from the sexual libations put the skin and shape of form around the inner form. A good analogy is that the deity was the inner chocolate inside an M&M candy and tenecacum put the hardened candy shell wrapping the chocolate. I performed ailatio by placing the deity/Endovelico inside the idol. I performed doenti by putting my consciousness into the idol and giving my senses over to it. I felt as if I was in the forest in the background of the picture staring at my human form.
I performed uedec by drawing out the deity/Endovelico from the idol and placing him outside my circle. I had placed a blue triangle (both physical and astral) into the corner of the room outside the circle to put Endovelico in, but once I drew him out it felt wrong. So, I went over to it and disintegrated the triangle and allowed him to fill a larger space. This may have been my mind wanting to perceive a larger form and not force him into a smaller triangle. Regardless, I followed my intuition in doing so. I was expecting to feel electricity or something more substantial than what I did to be a materialized form. I had believed I gave him etheric substance and animism, but perhaps not to the desired effect. I didn’t perceive him with my physical eyes, but I did perceive his energy and could feel a presence and a particular spot where his form was.
I recited Endovelico’s Canti again. At this moment, I became frozen in a stare and could not move for quite a while. It was as if we were staring into each other’s soul through our eyes and I was locked in.
Prior to starting the ritual, I had thought about what I wanted to ask Endovelico for. I performed vedagarom by commanding him to appear in my dreams to guide and teach me about healing, my past lives, and the hidden knowledge my soul needs to know to continue making progress on my path.
After repeating my command, we were in communion for a period of time. Thoughts came and went. I saw myself raise my hands and twirl counterclockwise, bringing energy up and noted how I was taught the opposite (in Arhatic Yoga) to bring energy down. I saw him dig in the ground as if to show me what to do; digging in the ground with a knowing that a past life was just under the surface. I pulled out a disc or ball of energy, and it felt like bliss, comfort, and love. Vastly different than anything felt so far in this ritual. I had the thought that it was not “knowledge” – a story, words, etc. The answer was knowledge is presented symbolically and through my medium of senses – feeling.
After the encounter felt complete, I placed Endovelico back into the idol. His energy felt stronger in the idol than when he materialized outside of my circle. I stared at the idol for a long time – the picture and form linking his being to my senses. He is behind the canvas – like he has an astral temple to reside in behind the surface. My intent in using a canvas was from Bardon’s Step 7 in magical animation of pictures and creation of elementaries.
I was not sure if I needed to reverse any other steps, but the ritual felt complete, so I thanked him and closed my ritual and circle.
